Tim, the tank I believe you are thinking of near Boulder Gorge was actually above the gorge at Mason. Jim Grigsby told me yesterday that the concrete footings are still there a little ways below the dam. It was at milepost 17. There are more tanks. As for Bates, I wonder too about the tank location and if it was used by the SVRy or just the logging lines. I believe I've got a late 30's timetable with Bates shown as having water, but as for our purposes here, it is 1916, I don't think Bates or Batesville was built yet.
