With the frame jacked up to accept the pilot truck, it was possible to turn the first and second
pairs of drivers to line up the pins so the siderods could be fitted in place. A small chain hoist
was needed to pull the second pair of wheels into alignment with the third set, which sat firmly
on the rails and couldn't be turned. Then Phil spun the front pair into position so the rods would
line up on the pins

The spacing of the pins was carefully checked to be sure it matched the spacing of the driver centers

Finally, Oscar picked up the side rods with the fork lift; Phil guided him into position so that Adam, Ken and Greg could slide the rods onto the pins
