A really nice shot is above Lobato Trestle. You would have to walk down along the tracks from the Dalton Crossing. You would get the train crossing the bridge with decent side-light, then climbing the hill and curves beyond the grove of trees. This can be shot from several locations, either track level, or above on the hillside. My brother and I shot there in 1968, and have done it on photo specials.
Problem is the walk in means you almost have to start there, or perhaps get a shot leaving the yard, and race up there.
I also like Cresco tank, which requires about 5 minute walk. Years ago before that little drive-way, we had to hike down from up on the road through the aspen trees. That was quite a hike down and back, but one of my favorite locations with the tank. Light is usually good there and the engine/s work hard there as well. Sometimes 2 good shots are better than several mediocre ones. Have fun!
