Last trains, cleanup of Company material and office furnishings and all that....Things that will never return nor be the same ever again...

One of the D&RGW Telephone engineers I worked with, E.A. "Andy" Anderson, told of being involved with that operation....removing and accounting for the telegraph instruments and equipment in the telegraph offices and grounding the wire 01 to work it to Alamosa as the southern end was abandoned and cleanup progressed northward from Santa Fe.

Wouldn't it have been fun to have been around during the time when all that was NEW and just being outfitted??? Moving stuff IN and building things NEW, rather than the depressing tasks of ripping it all out.
