As I remember from driving out of Antonito headed for Texas each trip, isn't this where there are a couple of low piles of borrow material running northwest to southeast for fifty feet or so?
I've thought maybe that is where the wye was, but it's hard to tell when your wife and kids are yelling in your ear to "watch the road".
I wish there was a "roadbed and logging spur" tour associated with a
Friends work week. I'd really like to know more about this -- my imagination works overtime wondering about what the various loading and unloading points were like. Especially since TerraServe and the other online GIS sites have sprung up, it's more and more interesting to think about places like Monero and Pagosa Junction. It's also fun to look at the old roadbed up through Cloudcroft,NM and wonder how they ever made *any* money at loggging.
