Another question about the 1901 photos. I can not see the Silverton Northern RR crossing diamond over the D&RG or any bridge of the SN over Cement Creek or any track in Cement Street. This must have been a later alignment to get away from paying for and using the D&RG in the terminal. The diamond and bridge clearly shows up on page 278 in the Railbow Route book in the 1911 or 1912 photo.
I first visited Silverton in 1960 and again in 1962 and in one of those years I took a photo of the crossing diamond laying on the north river bank of Cement Creek. I had not known that the track layout involved a crossing diamond at that time and saw the rails in the river to be of interest. What ever happend to it? Maybe it is still in the river?
