Russ,
The correct term is noise. When largely chroma based, it looks very digital, when largely luminance based, it can look fairly film-grain like. If you're seeing what's termed pixelation, then you're probably enlarging incorrectly without proper interpolation. Doing raw with care won't typically help with printing bigger, but it can help with quality (printing BETTER) IF you understand what it (and you) are doing, and what can be improved in conversion. If you don't, or you are just using default settings in your converter, you're mostly just adding an additional step.
As for the RB67 follow-ons, RZ67 Pro II bodies accept several different kinds of digital backs with available adapters, or at least have over the years. As this is a specialty market, what's actually available changes pretty drastically from year to year, and I haven't looked in a while. However, most of the backs will be fairly severely cropped on an RZ, as they're really designed for 645 cameras not 6x7 and are typically slightly cropped even below 645.
RZ67 bodies in good condition could be had for almost a song a while back, as many pro studios flooded the used market with 'em. Lately, the flood has turned into a trickle, and the goods ones take some patience to find. If interested, KEH is a great source for used equipment. They accurately and fairly rate their used gear. You can find cheaper, but KEH is the safest used source on the market for only a small price premium. I've been a satisfied customer for years. www.keh.com .
Oh, and yes, I believe that you can use your RB lens on an RZ, but there are some things that don't work RZ-like. Shutter speed settings come immediately to mind, as the shutters in RZ and RB lenses are different (electrical vs mechanical).
