Thanks, Jerry & Mark -
After re-setting my FZ50 to save in
.raw format, I took a few pics today to ex-Sperry-ment with.
One of them I opened using Elements, which did open the file but in a
.raw editor that looked
different from the usual Elements "frame" - a color histogram, different buttons, etc.
There was an "open" button at the bottom of this window which I hadn't noticed before, which when clicked then opened the same photo again but in a "normal" Elements window. I somehow managed to save the file in a
.tif format that was subsequently able to be opened in my easier-to-use old editor, Micrografx Picture Publisher as a test. I tried doing it with a second photo, but missed something along the way, as when opened in PicPub it was a very pixelated negative of about ΒΌ of the original photo.
But now I at least know it's possible to get there from here, and will keep playing until I have mastered the sequence.
Thanks again for all your help - it gave me the incentive to try again.
