I thought Friday was named after Freyja (sp?), a norse trickster godess and - according to an ancient Tuzigoot legend - the mother of Kokopelli and his sisters, the CocoaPellae twins.

Yes, since the invention of the telescope revealed his true nature, Saturn has been retroactively named the god of Hula Hoops and, by exension, Chubby Checker and The Twist.

'Cause two Roman emperors stuck in the extra months - July (Julius Caesar) and August (Augustus Caesar) named after themselves - between June and September, but were too lazy to rename September (7) to November (9), October (8) to December (10), November (9) to Elevember (11), and December (10) to Dodecember (12). It's a good thing that neither Nero or Claudius had much clout, or we might have had an entire 13th month of bad luck ...
