Photos of Oil companies in the Durango area (late 1940s to early 1950s)

Most of the gasoline shipped into the Durango area had been moved to the highways by the end of the War (ww2 that is). A few cars of CONOCO gasoline were moved to Teluride in UTLX Tanks. The dealers in Durango that recieved GASOLINE by rail were CONOCO, Texaco, Standard of Indiana, and one other I haven't been able to Identify.
Regarding painting your truck here are a couple of CONOCO trucks in Silverton.
Here is a Sanborn Map section showing the location of a couple of the Durango bulk plants. These were located on the north side of 6th street about where there was a Dennys built later. Not sure wnat is there now. The Conoco bulh plant was at the south end of 6th Ave and I believe is now covered by the highway.
