Daze of the weak? - Re: Re NNG: Tuzigoot Natl. Mon., Kokopelli ... and Jackelopes

Hi,

Sunday: Sun's Day. The Sun gave people light and warmth every day. They decided to name the first (or last) day of the week after the Sun.

Monday: Moon's Day. The Moon was thought to be very important in the lives of people and their crops. The swastic was a sign for bounty and plent (IIRC) until Histler and the Narzis and Mel Brooks? Wear's the soothsayer anywhey?

Tuesday: Tiw's Day. Tiw, or Tyr, was a Norse god known for his sense of justice. Maybe it should be Twosday as in the second day of the weak?

Wednesday: Woden's Day. Woden, or Odin, was a Norse god who was one of the most powerful of them all. Maybe it should be Whensday Addams?

Thursday: Thor's Day. Thor was a Norse god who wielded a giant hammer.Always use a bigger one - thor's was supposed to be the larges and could throw lightening or heavying?

Friday: Frigg's Day. Frigg was a Norse god equal in power to Odin.

Saturday: Seater's Day or Saturn's Day. Saturn was a Roman god. Wasn't he dealing with hula hoops and planets?

=====================

January: named after Janus, the god of doors and gates. never knew if he was coming or going?

February: named after Februalia, a time period when sacrifices were made to atone for sins.

March: named after Mars, the god of war. Lot better than the Greeks - Ariesch?

April: from aperire, Latin for “to open” (buds)

May: named after Maia, the goddess of growth of plants. My Uh ... pardon, I derail and lost track?

June: from junius, Latin for the goddess Juno

Why is September (seven actually month 9)?

===============================

Man how Pagan are we (wasn't that supposed to be the next station on the Ohio Creek extension) ?

As for taking the time to read this: preshadit.
