Then a few days later we were in Durango, and caught 478 with the same cars to Farmington and different cars northbound. Then 498 took them to Chama, where 493 and 483 had brought the second batch of pipe from Alamosa. We got 498 leaving with the pipe then 483 and 493 up the hill, later chasing 493 light to Alamosa from Antonito, which was the last thing we ever saw run as Rio Grande except for Durango-Silverton in 1969.
It would be neat to see if there was any films out there of the other runs. I would like to document the l968 year if that is possible since I already have a chunk on film my brother shot. Anybody out there have anything or know of any more let me know. If not film, maybe slides!
