Tom, its hard to say if any of the locomotives are still out there. Nome and its surrounding area are one big dump! You wouldnt believe the stuff thats still out there! Dredges and boilers are scattered all over the place. One needs a good eye to figure out what is salvagable and what is not. We have been trying to convince Keith to bring his yard ornament collection of Narrow Guage stuff to our organization in Fairbanks for eventual restoration and/or display but he justs lets it rot away in his yard. He has been a big help in some of our restoration efforts though.
This Sunday I'll be start engineer on our Sunday steamup with H.K. Porter #1. Imagine this in the far north!
