Heisler Locomotive works was the builder of the V-cylinder geared locomotives. They were in business until about the late 1930's (don't have my reference at hand to call the exact year). During the company's later years, when the demand for geared locomotives had fallen to almost zilch, the company survived by building a line of fireless industrial locomotives. They built what may have been the largest of all - a massive fireless 0-8-0 and one unique geared fireless loco as well as a number of more ordinary 0-4-0 and 0-6-0 fireless cookers.
