The Locomotive class began production very briefly at Dunkirk Engineering then moved to the Stearns Manufacturing Company, in Erie , PA. After several years < and I get a little fuzzy here, I think Stearns either gave up on it or went belly up. The patents and such then were taken and formed into a new company , Heisler Locomotive Works.
To the best of my knowlege, they only made the geared Locomotives and fireless rod engines.
The Lima Locomotive Works , on the other hand, branched out from Shays and did make a very substancial line of Heavy Rod Locomotives , including the GS engines of Southern Pacific Daylight fame.
