Glen, I think there will be a future. The NH&I was all diesel for a number of years, then new owners took over & rebuilt #40. She is in excellent condition. Obviously, with only one operable steamer, diesels are needed when #40 is down for maintenance. NH&I runs daily spring thru fall, weekends only during winter.
