Thank you ALL again for your kind words and great memories of my Uncle Bob. We're gathering this weekend to plan a memorial tribute to Bob which will take place in Bellefonte Pennsylvania in April of this year. I know the Colorado Railroad Museum is also planning a similar event for May.
As soon as we have firm dates, I'll post them here.
I printed out your many great words and memories posted on this site earlier. We were thinking that it would be fitting to read many of your memories / stories at Bob's memorial tribute in both Bellefonte and in Golden.
Can I be a bit forward here, begging your permission to use this forum for my request, that
whomever wants to, please write out your favorite "Bob Story" which we can share at the memorial tribute?
I can't think of any other community of good folks of which we can ask such a thing. Many of your remarks thus far have brought a lot of tears and a lot of great smiles. I know Bob would go more for the smiles than anything else. He got his wit, harmless pranks and great humor from his Mom. I'll post some of them at another time. He definitely came by it all innocently. I also will dig out a photo of Bob digging a pipe trench while his father was talking to Harvey Firestone in the foreground one day when they worked on his estate for a plumbing job.
Thanks for whatever you can share!
Rick
