Tom, John et al.,
I'm pretty sure that a moonlight train (MLT) was run from Antonito during the 1997 season. My structure painting team finished painting Sublette in 1996. Dick Cowles, who had been on my painting crew for several years, came up with the idea of painting the window shades with household scenes. (FYI - Dick's daughter and Mary Cardin painted the scenes.) Anyway, Dick was at Sublette during the Friends worksession in 1997 installing the painted window shades on the section house. I stopped by to check out Dick's handiwork and found a caterer setting up a chuckwagon dinner at Sublette for a MLT that was being run from the Antonito side that same evening. With Sublette freshly painted, it made a good location for the chuckwagon dinner. There's a siding, but no wye at Sublette, so the plan was to turn the engine at Big Horn on the westbound leg of the MLT and then run it backwards (at the head end of the train) all the way from Big Horn to Sublette.
