Your sentiments are pretty much what I thought as well. I'm only in South Texas, so it's not quite so far to the C&TS, but it's still at least a five day weekend. For something like this, it would be fun to ride one way in daylight on the regular train, and then back the other way at night on a charter/special.
So... should I check into what it'd cost to run through with 463, a parlor car, and an open gon?
I'll take care of the BBQ if you'll bring the potato salad...
