The cost/ticketing is why I thought just a parlor car or two and gondola... send them over to Antonito the day before as extras on the regular.
You'd have to ferry the loco over back, but maybe that could just be a work train day or double header out of Antonito (ohmy!) Or, if it was maintenance swap day, haul the to-be-shopped loco back cold. That would probably be the first time since they were hauled over in '71, wouldn't it?
Of course, any of those choices bring about the opportunity for a mixed parlor/work train for the photo-op people

A BBQ grill on the gondola (roped off for safety, of course) with some chickens and a brisket, some nice veggies grilling on the side, a dutch oven with some biscuits, and a nice pineapple upside down cake in another dutch oven, and you've got the makings of a wonderful evening.
In any case, I suspect many area season pass holders would make such a night run, just for the novelty, even if they had to cough up some $'s for the trip. If not, I wonder what a one car charter run would cost? I've got a few "friends" who like to ride trains
