I doubt it. Correct if me if I am wrong, but doesn't the CHS own 491 as well? Its been on display since the 80's, so I would not give up on having a CHS owned locomotive at the Museum.
Hell, with all the stupid crap they are doing, don't be surprised if they start tearing apart 491 to run her at the loop, only to figure out halfway through she is too big.
I dont know what will happen. I was very happy to ride the loop during the last year of the GLRR Inc operation. Plus having all the excess equipment at the Museum is not a bad thing. Personally however, I would like to see some of the engines moved around some. First thing you see coming up to the museum is Shay #12. And according to Phil, since the boiler jacket is galvanized, the paint is badly peeling.
At this point I believe the GLRR Ince equipment is going to become more or less a permanent feature at the Colorado Railroad Museum, would be nice to move them around some, put them more on display, rather the grouped around the turntable, waiting to be run.
I would also like to see #44 reassembled, its sad to see just an empty frame and cab.
I hope this stupid "black hole" called the Georgetown Loop ends soon, with its former operator put back in control. its not working out, plain and simple. and the former equipment has now gone from operating, to badly in need of repair
