Re: #9 Request for Bids Posting

I must admit I’m fascinated by the 160 day time frame does this mean:

a) that they’ll take to November to award the contract, so the successful bidder has 160 days to get #9 ready for the start of the 2009 season?
or
b) that they’re worried that #111 wouldn’t be ready for the 09 season?
Or
c) that Breckenridge wouldn’t allow them to operate the #111 until the #9 is in working order and available for their operation?

or a combination of any of the above.

It seems an awfully rushed time-frame for a loco which will not fully solve the loop’s problems.

Plus of course next year is the last of Railstar’s current agreement, which also adds to the mix …. Hmmmm…..
