Both grandparents worked for the railroads even though I didn't know them well. Mom's father worked for the Milwaukee Road as a brakeman out of Mobridge, SD and my Dad's father was a yard master for the Illinois Central at East St. Louis, MO. My train interest, errrr obsession, is due to my parents. When I was about six I went to LA Union Passenger Terminal for some kind of event, was allowed to go in the cab of a diesel and blow the horn, got a "santa Fe Junior Trainman" button which I still have. Been a fun ride!
