Don,
I'm glad the new BBS you're using can keep the old threads
I just wish we had not lost so much on the old BBS.
By the way, my personnal opinion is to keep the current locos operable and restore others as needed. I happen to disagree with the PA RR Museum when they pulled the PRR 4-4-2 (7002 I think) out of operation because a new boiler was needed. Their line of thought (and it is a valid one) that the original metal itself is important is less powerful than the experience of seeing a steamer with continuity back to the original building still preforming its job.
It is sort of like the sad state of Atlanta's Zoo in the 1970's and 80's (items sitting there to be looked at and forgotten) and ZOO ATLANTA where you see the items in a more natural habitat.
