Thanks, Scott -
Great People, too! My biggest disappointment was not the lack of sun early in the afternoon - it was not getting to meet their CMO, Phil Reader (formerly of the Georgetown Loop), who was out of town yesterday.
Right now, the PCRR main line is about two miles long. Plans are to eventually add another half loop, joined to the current line at its north and south ends. This will add at least two more miles, running out to the west alongside U.S. 101. This should startle more than a few motorists when they see a steam engine chuffing along, and increase visitation once the ranch is opened to the public as a museum. There will be at least one wye, where the new loop joins the old at the north end, so I'm looking forward to repeating a few of those photos framed by oak trees - but with the engine(s) pulling hard uphill, toward the camera ...
The PCRR sponsors an annual fundraiser for the San Luis Obisp RR Museum in early May, the Railroad Roundup. Hopefully you can come out for a visit next spring, and hopefully we will get some rain this year and the fields will be green again.
