Looks to be a 2-6-0.
A little note, but if you will notice, even the locomotive is outfitted for a military parade. The flag on the pilot is in correct position for a parade. (If it had been a manned formation, the flag barrer, to the front right of the lead in a formation, would have had the flag carried on his right side, against his shoulder. Parades and official flags are also carried this way when in a military formation.) It appears to be made up of a squadron design and has a official mast topping. Even the engine crew is wearing uniforms. Who in todays Hollywood dare have an engineer wearing anything out of character. The crews on the cars seem to be at bare arms salute used in official function.
Funny how even fifty years latter, we carry on the same functions in active duty and reserves, the toys are just a little more high tech. (Would rather have been there though!!)
Just a couple of thoughts on it. And it is an awsome photo.
