The reason you guys like this logo is exactly the reason it doesn't work to help promote the railroad to the general public. I suspect that you like it because at any distance at all its hard to tell that it says Cumbres & Toltec rather than Denver & Rio Grande. As soon as the railroad can survive on the business generated by the railfans, and the people who already know about the railroad, it will be a wonderful lettering style. Until then you better find a logo that both advertizes the C&TS and reminds the railfans of the Rio Grande.
That was the rationale for the flying Cumbres & Toltec when I first applied it to the #19 and the #497.
Having said that when the 483 is put back into service it would be great to see it have an old C&TS logo for a while.
