CJ seems to appreciate what the Friends have done. As I interprete it his point is more procedural. I happen to disagree with him, but he appears to be uncomfortable with the power the the Friends now have as both preservationists and operator of the C&TS. In the past it was more fragmented. Now the Friends have assumed a great deal of authority, and along with that comes the responsibility for doing it right. Personally, I think the Friends are up to it. But clearly we're in the hot seat, and others will challenge us. That's probably healthy.
