Yes, I think they should be removed or at least resign but in any case disappear from the Loop and the CHS for good! Sentiments like wanting them in jail with some big "bubba" is not just over the top but is in bad taste and makes all of us look bad as well!
Bell, Behrens, Contigligoogoogooglieyes and the rest did some stupid, wasteful, despicable, underhanded and lousy tricks to get rid of GTL Inc. but they weren't illegal (at least as far as I can tell.) Despicable, lousy and underhanded is just business as usual in politics so nobody should really be surprised to learn that this has happened. Stupid and wasteful are the key words here! That's what the State Auditor could determine! Let's remember that Bell and Behrens WANT the Loop to succeed! It's just that these two are incompetent as well as unscrupulous and greedy! I hate to say this but how much negative feedback would there be if the CHS had managed to procure three good steamers, rolling stock, proper restoration of #9 and a "seamless transition" that had ridership back to 2004 levels by 2007? There might be the occasional grumble about "unfairness" but I would be willing to bet that most everyone would have given the whole thing a shrug and moved on!

Let's review .... These buffoons are in a place of public service. They are willfully squandering public resources. Because they are "incompetent" ? Who cares WHY ? You squander the pension fund, ... does that matter WHY ? C'mon ! Hold people accountable. These bums do what they do because they have never been held to the fire.
As for IF the Loop had been successful after they took it from GTL, you're right, few would be complaining. That is because a public resource and cubic piles of green rectangles would not have been squandered by those entrusted to be guardians of the public.
Where does all this sunshine and lollipops grey area come from anyway. These guys have (and continue to) destroy a public asset). They are crooks and should be dealt with accordingly. It is pretty smug to give these guys an inch when you do the numbers. How many of us even make in ten years what has been wasted under the direction of these parasites?
