Pat, I love that photo of 165. Dave Sell & I were sitting up on her oil tank one evening on Easter Weekend in 1975, all set to ride a two engine freight out of Barrios to Bananera when some official came running up & told us it wasn't safe to do that. I tried telling him that I'd done this many times on previous visits, but he wouldn't budge & Dave & I lost out on the trip of a lifetime! Sister Krupp was the mid-train helper. She had a front-end throttle & 165 had the conventional dome throttle. We watched the train leave town & even heard them return later that night. Those were the days.
