I was going to reply to a post by El Coke about how under-appreciated Marvin Casias may be. But it was quickly apparent to me that Marvin is only one of many. The fact that that the C&TS exists today is primarily a people story, not just machines or track.
Don't get me wrong, Marvin is special. He's one of my favorite folks, as in I really owe him, he has bailed me out. And as Coke says, he's the spark plug that makes Antonito a special place on the C&TS.
But the C&TS is a people story even more than machines or track. Without a whole bunch of folks the steam engines, cars and rails would be useless junk.
This is one of things that makes the C&TS the last real steam railroad. People create the difference between a stuffed and mounted carcass, and a living breathing railroad. And here are a whole bunch of folks who are part of that.
It's the people.
