The safety triangle, commonly known as the safety pyramid or accident pyramid was originated in 1931 by H.W. Heinrich and detailed in his book, Industrial Accident Prevention: A Scientific Approach. In this book, Heinrich's research shows so many close calls and so many actual incidents equate to death. From the people that I know that worked for Railstar in the past three years, the frequency of events was too much for many of them to continue working.
The other "yeah butts come" with more experienced crews and better suited / better maintained equipment by GLRR, Inc. There were a few white knuckle moments, but I could always count on crew and equipment with GLRR, Inc.
It's disheartening to not see the Loop run. I hope they get their people and equipment working in better harmony.
