Well I was just there, and yes U can take a "car" up to Animas Forks just watch out for the two-wheelers and four-wheelers! Remember those going "UP", have the right of way! And I did see "cars" up there(Animas Forks) on two different trips that way. We were camping up Eureka Gulch which starts above the Sunnyside mill site and with all the rain during that time Tuesday morn we came down to find the road blocked by three rockslides!! Two we got by, the third totally blocked the road directly above the mill. We waited for a while thinking of going back to camp(there's no other way out!) when we saw a dozer coming up the canyon, he cleared it enough to get a vehicle by.
