Don't think it would be cheaper to make a replica--but they have been sitting idle for many years and the job would be big--not as big as when the 463 was brought back from the dead. The C&TS is going to have to look seriously at getting at least 3 of their 490's in the mix because the 4 K-36's will need major repairs at some point and if operations expand in the future they won't be able to run the railroad at the higher capacity levels with 2 or 3 servicable locomotives. It's all time, money and need.
