Re: Telegraph

Here is a blowup of the pole adjacent to the Vance Jct. section house. You said that Vance Jct. was probably where the lines looped to Telluride. Looking at the lines, the top two have the double insulators and appear to be the through lines. The bottom four appear to dead end on this pole. The bottom four have wires looping below the crossarm through eyelets and there appears to be a bundle of wires going up to the top. Would this be where they started the loop?

Also, the wire going off on the bottom left corner goes to the section house. Would this be for the telegraphone? Speaking of telegraphones, is there a limit to the length of a tail to the telegraphone? If there is, that would explain why there were 4 wires/2 lines going to Ophir, rather than two stub lines for the telegraphone since Ophir wasn't listed as having a telegraph.
