At the 2000 NG Railfest at the D&S, I rode the Eureka from Durango to Silverton. Behind the coach was a caboose for the crew and 'friends'. When we passsed the Needleton tank one person emerged and photographed it. when I inquired (or did I overhear) it was stated that the tank was supposed to be dismantled the following week. I heard no confirmation on that, so take it as a rumor, though a discouraging one.
