Just a little more info on the water problems between Chama and Durango.

Tom Eagan on phone Pounds 11:47 AM river is down quite a bit and they figure if don't have any bad luck will have it fixed by 7 or 8 PM.
Chama River coming up fast
6:00 AM Eagan Chama says waer running over highway bridge just west Chama

Work Extra 476 called Chama 9:00 AM
1' make up train coal and water ditcher fill water car
45" wait for instructions
1'15" go to monero
6'45" roll rock load and unload with ditcher at MP 365 1/2 material for rip rap
6:45 PM to 9:30 PM back up Moner to Chama

(An interesting side note: over on the Gunnison line, during this same period, engine 319 was on a work train for several days between Sapinero and Cerro Summit. Maintenance of Way work was being done using ditcher RGS 030)
