The photo I just posted doesn't have the detail of the original. In the actual photo, there are what appears to be bunches of grass and sod clinging hear and there to the side of the tender and large streaks across the tender side like it layed over and drug or plowed along on it's side. The engine however appears unscathed. It made me wonder if the scenario might have been at least a derailment of the tender caused by a broken draw bar. It might have been a bit exciting for the fireman to say the least. This photo is from the Denver Public Library I believe.
