I remember the string of stock cars on the stub of the Valley Line as well. Earlier in the sixties there were even more of them as I recall. I suppose they were removing them and scrapping them a few at a time. When you went east on 160 from Alamosa, you would see long unbroken strings of stock cars on both sides of the road. In fact, the string was only broken where it crossed the highway. I also remember underbrush growing up and around the cars, making it look like they had not been moved in some time, which was probably the case.
