As one of the few (other than the REAL heroes of the railroad, the employees) who was around for RGRPC I AND II....
Every single one of the board members that served brought SOMETHING valuable to the table.
And every single one of them brought the DESIRE to see that the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad SUCCEEDED. They all did what they had to do at the time. The dysfunctionality of the Commission and I am talking about the MECHANICS of the Commission, not about the people, presented daily challenges. There is so much information that the "public" doesn't know about perservence and commitment, that I could write a book. WE all did the best we could. The constant bashing of personalities that YOU don't agree with, serves no purpose. The tongue-in-cheek quote from the Lion King, of "putting your past in the behind" certainly bodes well here.
Long live the C&T and all who have contributed to its success. The list is long.
