These are some very interesting numbers. That is useful data to add to RGS Story on the connecting service via that branch. Traffic from that branch saved the RGS from abandonment in the 1930s.
An extensive history of the Farmington Branch SG to Ng is in the Sundance's RGS Story, Vol. XI.
They did not lay a inner rail but just re-gauged the two rails. With 10 men per mile [500 men] and 36 hours would be 5 rails or 147' per hour. Not a very demanding job for 10 men, being 7 ties / 14.6 spikes per hour per man. About 4 minutes per spike.
