Even further problems:
1) Water hatch soldered on backwards.
2) Piping sucks. (Bent wire crap)
3)Trailing truck is not only located improperly, it's completely wrong. Should be identical to K-37.
4) Tender trucks are a complete fabrication of fantasy. They bear absolutely no resemblence to the prototype, which is identical to those on a K-36.
5) Some have complained about the profile of the domes being wrong, but they don't bother me.
On the positive side, like the 74, the boiler and frame, particularly the running gear, are fine. In fact, I think the running gear is far superior to the recent PSC K-28. I am seriously considering installing Westside valve gear and hangers to my PSC. I rebuilt and still have a Westside K-28 that has a PSC cab, along with all new castings and plumbing. Turned out great.
As you well know, all it takes is work to fix most of these kind of problems.
