In June of '98 I did a video oral history of Bob at his Brother-in-law's home in Cleveland Heights. It's in hi-8, courtesy of my friend Bob Farkas. It runs almost 2 hours, just me asking him questions. (It helps if you know the questions to ask from years of casual conversations with him and knowing people close to him.) It's just a talking head video of remanisances, somewhat concentrating on Bob's Ohio years, his co-founding of the Eastern Ohio Chapter of the NRHS (later split into the Akron Railroad Club and Midwest Chapter), his service in Iran in WWII, how he came to leave Ohio for Colorado, etc. I have a VHS copy, Bob has the master, and I believe the Akron RR Club has a copy. "The Barbara Walters' Interview" it's not, but a really fascinating tale from one of the legends of the hobby. If I ever get around to it, I plan on giving a copy to the NRHS library. I guess we should probably put in on DVD now.
