Obviously you missed the point of my post and why would the D&S want there track to deterioate to be historically accurate--it was probably in as good or better shape while under the Grande's ownership--how do you think the San Juan made it from Alamosa to Durango in one day? Your right history doesn't stop, so I guess it wouldn't matter if all the D&S locomotive were converted to burn oil and were painted yellow just because it would match the coaches? My point is if they want to consider themselves a working museum at least they can keep some sense of historical accuracy. That is one thing that Bradshaw kept in mind when he took over the D&S--first obvious change was taking off the fake stacks. Look at the EBT or the Huckleberry or even the Loop RR's they letter their equipment (Locomotives 464, #9) as historically correct as possible even though they are run by new corporations.
