Greg,
I agree. However, none of this would be a problem if the politicians did not approve cancerous developement and particularly around industrial transportation. They forever approve homes by airports, and it is no surprise in Durango they have allowed development so close to the roundhouse that it is an annoyance to people. Of course, anyone that buys next to an airport or a roundhouse gets exactly what you would expect. But no matter. They will bitch abouut the noise, or smoke or whatever as if it is the fault of the airplane or train and never themselves. It would not be a problem,if those who approve plans would not approve them in such areas.
On the other hand, those who complain the loudest are the last to give a thought to giving up their gas guzzling dinasaurs. And, when you consider that growth is the cause of exponential increases in cars, trucks, burning gasoline, burning fuel oil you have all the ingredients of causing gagging pollution in and of itself. Oh, but that cannot be touched, because to do so would be to put the crunch on growth and unrestrained greed and their own conduct. God forbid.
It is much easier for the government and @#$%& to complain about someone else who has been there for 120 years, than to clean up their own act or maybe give a nanosecond of thought to where they buy property.
That's it from my soapbox.
