I dug out that video, and while the number is definitely flat any shiny, I don't see anything to indicate that it has any thickness. The narrow part along the bottom would be hard to cut without needing to secure the piece in many places, and the big chunk missing from the upper right is more consistent with a tear in aluminum leaf than anything that would happen to sheet or plate metal.
