Bruce,
There is a photo in the book of 3/4 view of one of the engines. It is captioned "Cass Grande's No. 32 is marked U.S. Army. The 1943 Baldwin Mike remains servicable." The engine has piston valves, squat domes, etc.
The view is similar in orientation to the one on your website of one of the 190's arriving at Carcross. All the proportions of the engines match. Squat domes and cab, piston valves, location of check, heigth of tender v. the cab.
No construction numbers. Only a note at the bottom of the Peru roster page saying that Casa Grande was inactive and a listing: "Hanomag and O&K 0-4-0T, 3 Alco 2-8-0 (1911, 1920), 2 BLW 2-8-2 (1943), 5 Fireless 0-4-0F"
I know a few people deep into locomotive rosters. I have reason to contact them about some other lines south of the border. I try to see if they have any information.
