Steel rails

Folks,
something that you don't see much discussion about here is the steel rails that the trains actually run on. I have a few questions about them.
If we are talking about say 56 pound rail how much does a used piece weigh? Are they still 39 feet long?
What does the rail on the D&S or the C&TS weigh?
Is much of it historic (that is from D&RGW years) or has there been a lot of it replaced?
