Dear Eric,
You can be real proud of all those accomplishments, especally at your age. You are surely able to obtain a General Manager job of a mega railroad if you keep up your learning pace and chose a railroad for a career.
Please accept my apologies for teasing you for not having seen the EBT as yet, as now I am sure you will get there in due time. You explained the reason well.
Your ideas of reaching Mt.Union are also in the Railroad's eyes. The hope was that the Mt.Union Connecting RR would get state money to rebuild all the crossing, where by they would fix the track between them and out to the industrial parks. That would only leave a few miles of work to connect the two. One of the volunteer sessions which was offerd was to spike down the inner 3'-rail along the Mt. Union C. RR tracks but it rained and snowed that rotten day and work was not finished. There are still several miles ready to gauge and spike for those who feel up to it. The EBT has rceently purchased a large triangle of land next to NS and MUCR at the west side of Mt.Union which would make a giant parking lot if needed. The delay is engine problem at MUCR and the state distribution of the crossing monies.
