As a member of the FEBT and NARCOA owner of an ex-EBT speeder (which is operated each year on the EBT with permission of the management), I know that the FEBT, the Rockhill Trolley Museum members, and the EBT crews themselves have been working to extend the track to operate speeders on further south (toward Saltillo). Last year they reached the cemetery road, and my speeder was one of those to make several trips. This year they have extended that track further towards the highway crossing, and I am looking forward to operating my speeder as far as it can go. Unfortunately, I was not available to help cut the brush and replace ties on the days they were doing it.
Creeker, I would respectfully suggest you join the FEBT and work with the crews already doing what you want to do, even if it is not towards Mt. Union. Who knows, at some point crews may head out in that direction as well. It all depends on what the railroad wants to do - they have the last word. Besides, it took many years before the management let the FEBT do trackwork, so if you started a new group, it would be even more years before they would trust a new group - however well-intentioned.
